Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced AB Initio Engineer to support the HR initiatives. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing Ab Initio/ETL pipelines to integrate data from multiple source systems into our environment. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience with Ab Initio tools, ETL processes, and data management best practices, ensuring secure, compliant, and stable handling of HR data across systems such as HR, POL, and SABA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Ab Initio graphs and pipelines for onboarding various data formats.

• Build automated data exports from HR-related systems (HR, POL, SABA) to EAP environments.

• Manage system performance tuning and troubleshooting for ETL processes.

• Implement data transformations, partitioning, and integration using Ab Initio components and utilities.

• Maintain and improve metadata management through EME and Control Center.

• Ensure data security, stability, and compliance throughout the data lifecycle.

• Create and maintain technical documentation for repeatable processes and configurations.

Requirements & Skills

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with the Ab Initio suite, including:

  • Graphical Development Environment (GDE)

  • Co-Operating System

  • Enterprise Meta Environment (EME)

  • Control Center

• Experience handling multiple data formats: XML, JSON, AVRO, CSV, Web Services, databases, streams, mainframe files, cloud storage, etc.

• Strong proficiency with key Ab Initio components (rollup, scan, normalize, reformat, partitioning, transform, etc.).

• Experience with data storage formats such as Parquet, Delta, and Avro.

• Knowledge of metaprogramming and performance optimization.

• Strong understanding of ETL and data warehousing/datalake concepts.

• Advanced SQL and database management skills.

• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and shell scripting.

• Exposure to Azure Data Lake Storage and Databricks notebooks is a plus.
