Job Description

Job Brief

We are looking for a Platform Engineer with strong Azure experience and a solid engineering mindset. In this role, you'll help shape and support a cloud environment that enables development teams to deliver software reliably and efficiently. You will contribute to the evolution of the internal platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, automated, and easy for developers to use.

You’ll work across several areas: cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD automation, monitoring, security, and tooling that improves the developer journey. The environment is built around Kubernetes on Azure, with a modern DevOps/GitOps approach and an emphasis on reducing friction for developers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve Azure-based infrastructure using Terraform or other IaC frameworks.

  • Operate and enhance Kubernetes environments (AKS), including networking, secrets, and supporting services.

  • Work with GitOps tooling and Kubernetes add-ons such as service meshes, API gateways, and deployment controllers.

  • Design and maintain CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, focusing on secure authentication flows and automated deployment strategies.

  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Azure Monitor, ELK/Fluentd stacks, or commercial APM platforms (New Relic, Dynatrace, etc.).

  • Contribute to platform-level security by integrating scanning tools, enforcing permissions, and applying cloud-native best practices (IAM, RBAC, zero-trust).

  • Develop automation scripts and internal tooling (Python, Bash, Groovy) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve team efficiency.

  • Support cloud-native application teams, troubleshoot platform issues, and help drive improvements in system reliability and developer experience.

  • Participate in the evolution of development workflows and platform standards across the organization.

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in engineering roles, ideally in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
  • Proven experience working with Azure infrastructure and IaC (Terraform preferred).

  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes operations, AKS, container networking, and Azure platform services.

  • Ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including secure credential handling and progressive deployment techniques.

  • Hands-on experience with observability tools and log/metric pipelines (Azure Monitor, Dynatrace, ELK, Fluentd, New Relic).

  • Programming/scripting abilities in languages such as Go, C#, JavaScript, Python, Bash, or Groovy.

  • Familiarity with cloud security, Kubernetes hardening, IAM policies, and zero-trust concepts.

  • Experience with agile development practices and cloud-native architectures.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfortable collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
