Job Brief

The Technical IT/OT Security Consultant will advise, monitor, and coordinate the implementation of the company’s information security strategy across both IT and OT environments. Reporting directly to the CISO, this professional will provide technical guidance, assess security measures, and ensure alignment with best-practice standards. The role includes supporting global terminals, contributing to security decision-making, and recommending new technologies and improvements. This position offers a hybrid work model (3 x week onsite, 2 x week remote) in Coimbra, Lisbon, or Castelo Branco.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to IT and OT teams on network, system, and application security.

• Advise on new security technologies and protective measures.

• Review and assess IT/OT security implementations at terminals and offices.

• Liaise with IT specialists and business stakeholders to design secure solutions.

• Perform risk assessments on existing and new infrastructure and applications.

• Recommend and coordinate technical security improvements.

• Evaluate new security solutions.

• Manage and coordinate IT/OT security projects and operations.

• Handle and monitor information security incidents.

• Assess and ensure alignment with security policies, procedures, and standards.

• Support the CISO in defining and implementing network and system standards.

• Contribute to security-related decision-making processes.

• Travel internationally when required (10–20%).

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in IT security, OT security, or cybersecurity consulting (must have).

• Fluent English (C1), written and spoken (must have).

Preferred (not mandatory):

• Experience with OT/ICS systems (DCS, SCADA, HMI, OPC, Modbus).

• Experience with IT security systems such as firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR, SIEM.

• Experience with at least one framework/standard: COBIT, NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27002, ISA/IEC-62443 (desired).

• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL).

• Certifications or willingness to pursue: CISSP, CEH, GICSP, GRID, GCIP.
