Job Brief:

We are seeking a Senior GCP Data Engineer to join one of our clients, a fast-growing boutique consulting firm, established in 2019. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop reliable, high-performance data pipelines and data products on Google Cloud Platform, transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive business impact.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable operational and analytical data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Build and manage robust data models, data products, and reporting frameworks to enable real-time and batch analytics.
  • Implement stream processing solutions to support event-driven and near real-time use cases.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define key metrics, data strategies, and success criteria.
  • Apply domain-driven design principles to create well-structured, reusable, and maintainable data solutions.
  • Automate data workflows and orchestration using cloud-native and open-source tools.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve data quality, performance, and reliability across the data platform.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends in data engineering, cloud technologies, and GCP services, applying best practices to evolve the data ecosystem.

 

Requirements & Skills:

  • Proven experience building operational and analytical data pipelines in cloud environments.
  • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform, including:
    • BigQuery
    • Pub/Sub
    • Dataflow (Apache Beam)
    • Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow)
  • Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling.
  • Solid proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation tasks.
  • Experience with stream processing architectures and event-driven systems.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data product design, and domain-driven design concepts.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, and comfortable working in cross-functional and distributed teams.
