Job Brief

• We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join a tech professional services company part of an international group, to work from the Lisbon office 2x a week. 
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist
• Proven experience leading and managing Data Science teams
• Demonstrated experience developing Generative AI solutions, including the use of transformers, embeddings, and prompt engineering
• Strong command of traditional Machine Learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning
• High proficiency in Python and common libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and Seaborn
• Experience with PySpark and handling large-scale Datasets
• Practical knowledge of MLOps practices, including model versioning, experiment tracking (e.g., MLflow), deployment, and monitoring

Requirements & Skills:

• Contribute to the design and development of Generative AI solutions, including transformer-based models, embeddings, and LLM-driven pipelines
• Build, train, and optimize traditional Machine Learning models for multiple use cases (classification, regression, clustering, etc.)
• Explore, clean, and transform data, applying solid feature engineering practices to improve model performance
• Support the automation, reproducibility, and scalability of data science pipelines using MLOps tools, ensuring continuous monitoring and maintenance in production
• Communicate analytical insights clearly, with a strong focus on business impact and practical application
• Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in AI, Machine Learning, and cloud technologies
• Lead and mentor a growing team, acting as both a technical and behavioral reference
• Participate in pre-sales activities and contribute to the preparation of technical proposals
