Job Brief

We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join a tech professional services company part of an international group, to work from the Lisbon office 2x a week.

Responsibilities:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist
Proven experience leading and managing Data Science teams
Demonstrated experience developing Generative AI solutions, including the use of transformers, embeddings, and prompt engineering
Strong command of traditional Machine Learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning
High proficiency in Python and common libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and Seaborn
Experience with PySpark and handling large-scale Datasets
Practical knowledge of MLOps practices, including model versioning, experiment tracking (e.g., MLflow), deployment, and monitoring

Requirements & Skills:

Contribute to the design and development of Generative AI solutions, including transformer-based models, embeddings, and LLM-driven pipelines
Build, train, and optimize traditional Machine Learning models for multiple use cases (classification, regression, clustering, etc.)
Explore, clean, and transform data, applying solid feature engineering practices to improve model performance
Support the automation, reproducibility, and scalability of data science pipelines using MLOps tools, ensuring continuous monitoring and maintenance in production
Communicate analytical insights clearly, with a strong focus on business impact and practical application
Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in AI, Machine Learning, and cloud technologies
Lead and mentor a growing team, acting as both a technical and behavioral reference
Participate in pre-sales activities and contribute to the preparation of technical proposals
