Job Description

Job Brief:

We are looking to hire a Senior Automation tester with proven experience in Cypress for a multinational professional services company with multiple offices in Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, and Covilhã.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the continuous evolution of the Test Automation Excellence strategy, designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable automated test suites (with a strong focus on Cypress).
• Act as a hands-on automation expert, defining high-quality test scripts while mentoring and supporting other QA engineers in maximizing the impact of automated testing practices.
• Drive the continuous optimization of test automation processes, proactively adapting frameworks and approaches to new technical challenges and evolving business needs.
• Ensure the proper setup, maintenance, and evolution of test environments and supporting infrastructure, guaranteeing reliability and repeatability of test execution.
• Identify, analyze, and thoroughly document defects, performance issues, and functional inconsistencies, working closely with product and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Promote a strong quality-first culture, embedding risk management, best practices, and continuous improvement principles within the team.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement modern QA tools, frameworks, and methodologies that strengthen automation capabilities and overall quality standards.
• Collaborate effectively in multilingual environments, leveraging fluency in English and Portuguese to ensure clear communication and alignment across stakeholders.

Requirements & Skills:

• Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken) is mandatory, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience working specifically with Cypress as a test automation framework is required.
• At least 7 years in total of experience designing, developing, and maintaining advanced automated test suites in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
• Proven ability to rapidly understand complex technical architectures and business domains, translating requirements into robust and effective test strategies..
• Highly collaborative mindset, combined with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and proactivity in day-to-day work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, maintaining high standards of quality under pressure.
