Job Brief:

We are looking for a Business Developer with experience in B2B ingredient-based environments to drive commercial growth and expand the client portfolio across Europe.

This is a highly commercial role focused on building long-term partnerships with manufacturers in the fragrance and related industries, combining technical understanding with strong business development capabilities.

The ideal profile has experience in fragrance, aroma chemicals, or similar chemical/ingredient industries, and is comfortable managing consultative, solution-based sales cycles.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with manufacturers in the fragrance, personal care, and home care industries
  • Drive business development activities focused on ingredient-based and solution-selling models
  • Lead commercial discussions including fragrance applications, technical feasibility, and value proposition development
  • Negotiate commercial agreements with clients, distributors, and strategic partners
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders in R&D, perfumery, innovation, and procurement
  • Translate technical fragrance capabilities into clear commercial opportunities and tailored customer solutions
  • Collaborate closely with internal technical teams (perfumers, application labs, R&D) to align customer needs with product development
  • Contribute to market strategy by identifying new applications, trends, and growth opportunities in the fragrance industry
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and regulatory developments impacting the F&F sector

Requirements & Skills:

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within Flavors & Fragrances, fragrance ingredients, aroma chemicals, or related chemical industries
  • Strong understanding of ingredient-based selling and technical value propositions in fragrance applications
  • Experience working with or selling to fragrance houses, personal care, or home care manufacturers
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles and complex technical-commercial discussions
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills in a consultative sales environment
  • Solid commercial mindset with ability to understand olfactive trends, product positioning, and customer needs
  • Background in chemistry, chemical engineering, perfumery, or related fields
  • Fluent English is mandatory. Additional European languages will be considered a plus
